'LESSONS FROM YESTERDAY, HOPES FOR TOMORROW: WELCOME 2025'

WEAVING YESTERDAY INTO TOMORROW

New Year, New Stories – My First Blog of 2025

Hello, everyone!

As we step into a brand-new year, I’m excited to share my first blog of 2025. Reflecting back, my last blog was written on December 8th, and a lot has happened since then.

First of all, it’s a bit late, but let me properly introduce myself (finally, haha!). I’m Sreeshma, though most people call me "Sree." I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Human Resource Management in Australia.

In my previous blogs, I dove straight into sharing my thoughts, challenges, and moments of sadness. In doing so, I completely overlooked one important detail—I never introduced myself! Funny how easy it is to forget the basics, isn’t it?

I’ve realized this reflects something we all tend to do: we often forget who we are. So much of our focus goes into talking about our struggles and the hurdles we face in life that we neglect to prioritize ourselves. That’s exactly what I did.

But here’s to changing that narrative, one blog at a time. Let’s remember to celebrate who we are, beyond just the challenges we face.

Looking forward to sharing more of my journey with you all this year.

People often forget about blogging as a way to share their thoughts and experiences. But I believe it’s one of the best ways to express yourself and share your vision. Through blogging, you can be authentic and pour out all your feelings. Writing about your emotions and experiences can help lighten the emotional load—it’s like releasing that weight off your shoulders. You feel so much lighter once you’ve put your thoughts into words.

Now, coming back to the present—it's December, the Christmas season! This time of year has been incredibly busy for me. I work at The Cheesecake Shop as both a decorator and in front-end customer service, so the holiday rush has kept me on my toes. December is always hectic, with everything getting busier than usual.

I didn’t get the chance to write earlier, but I promise to make blogging a regular habit moving forward, especially on weekends. I’ll ensure I take the time to share my thoughts and experiences more consistently from now on.

Last year, on September 1st, I embarked on a refreshing getaway to Sydney from Brisbane. After three incredibly hectic months of work—juggling a grueling schedule of seven days a week and nearly 60 hours per week—I knew I needed a well-deserved break.

Sydney, the vibrant Harbour City, proved to be the perfect escape. Over the course of four days, I immersed myself in its energy, exploring iconic sights and soaking in the lively atmosphere. It was a stark contrast to Brisbane—a city I love but found more tranquil in comparison. Sydney’s dynamic vibe, bustling streets, and endless attractions made it feel like a world of its own.

The trip reminded me of the importance of stepping away from work to recharge and reset. Those moments of joy and exploration were exactly what I needed to rejuvenate my spirit and return to my routine with a fresh perspective.

That’s how I enjoyed my break! I look forward to connecting again during the next break when we can explore a different topic and dive deeper into how everything is progressing. During our next discussion, we can talk about what tasks I have to complete, plans for the future, and any other updates.

Until then, signing off!
